First I cleaned things up a bit, but found it kind of boring…

So I synced this photo with the other in Lightroom then pulled it into Photoshop above the other.

I masked some of the new photo in, and set it to darken, but that felt off balance…

So I did the same for the other side by copying the layer and flipping it horizontally.

Added a levels adjustment layer…

I wanted to straighten the tower, so I used puppet warp to straighten it.

Final Thoughts

This is probably the exact kind of thing that Tolkien used for motivation in his novels.
