I didn’t like that the heat distortion was only on one side of the plane, but since the plane was 90 degrees from the focal plane, I thought Id just copy one side of the plane to the other….
Then I warped the fake side to more fit where the real side was, then fixed the barrier between the two sides with masking.
Then I used the healing brush to make some changes to each side, to make them look less fake.
I didn’t do a very good job on this photo, but the heat distortion can hide any weirdness I created here.
This photo ended up looking like a painting, its so strange that it looks like I may have just used a filter on a parked plane. Too bad the afterburners weren’t lit!
