Last summer I had a chance to spend some time with this eagle. I managed to get this shot I like to call “Keep It Down Down There!”
(Straight Out Of Camera)
Sigma 150-600mm C
- Exposure, highlights and blacks lowered
- Shadows and whites raised
- Clarity, vibrance and saturation raised
- Sharpening with masking raised
Another boring background, time to switch it up in Photoshop…
I like the subtle clouds in this photo…
Getting there, time to add a vignette…
Chose where I wanted to darken
Blurred out the vignette and lowered the opacity,
Then I thought the clouds looked to in focus, so I blurred that layer out a bit.
I took this a few weeks after buying the Sigma 150-600mm. I was still getting used to the fact that it zooms in the opposite direction of Nikon lenses.
If I was just going to stay at 150mm I should have switched to the 70-200mm which is much sharper. I should have tried 500mm or so onto this guy, maybe next year!
